During this unique Christmas party season, we decided to use our own as an opportunity to raise funds for Crisis and The Trussell Trust – as well as have a great time together!
With the normal in-person parties out of the question, we had a Zoom-based get together that saw our team take part in a cocktail making class, tuck into a turkey dinner and race around the world in a virtual quiz.
It was a brilliant evening and, as well as raising our spirits this festive season, we also raised £2,870 by matching the cost of our dinner and a further £2,575 by matching the winning number of points in the quiz.
This meant a total of £5,445 was split equally between two charities that have been doing brilliant work during the pandemic.
Synergy Vision Managing Director Eileen Gallagher said: “It’s been such a difficult year for so many people and we wanted to finish it by having some fun and raising funds for two charities very close to our hearts.
“Both Crisis and The Trussell Trust do amazing work in our local community and beyond – it felt right to support their important work with people who are homeless or are in food poverty.”
As well as year-round services, Crisis runs Crisis at Christmas, which offers food, warmth, companionship and vital services to homeless people over the Christmas period.
Crisis said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Synergy Vision for kindly fundraising for Crisis this Christmas. This year, more than ever, we need your support so that we can be there for people who are sleeping rough, sofa surfing or stuck in temporary accommodation.”
The Trussell Trust supports a network of 428 foodbanks across the UK. Each foodbank is an individual charity supported by the local community. They have given out a record 2,600 food parcels a day to children since the start of the pandemic.
The Trussell Trust said: “Thank you so much Synergy Vision for your support – with your support, we can build a future where nobody needs to go without the basics, this Christmas and beyond. We are proud to have you a part of #TeamTrussell and congratulations again on raising such a fantastic total!”
