About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Associate Programme Director to join our team in Sydney. Reporting to the Managing Director of our APAC entity, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic medical communications programmes while building trusted client partnerships and contributing to the continued growth of Synergy Vision.
Day to day, you’ll work closely with clients, experts, and cross-functional teams to shape and deliver high-quality medical communications initiatives that address business needs and achieve measurable outcomes. You’ll provide strategic input across a range of programmes, support business development activities, and help drive innovation and excellence throughout the organisation.
You’ll also play an important role in mentoring colleagues, developing internal capabilities, and identifying opportunities to strengthen our strategic offering in an evolving pharmaceutical and biotechnology landscape.

- Provide strategic direction and input across a range of medical communications programmes and initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, experts, and key stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of client objectives and identify opportunities to deliver additional value through strategic communications.
- Support programme planning, execution, and optimisation to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Contribute strategic and creative thinking across a variety of deliverables, including digital and omnichannel initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs and business objectives.
- Support new business development through proposal writing, pitch participation, and identification of growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Attend client meetings, workshops, and industry congresses as required.
- Mentor and support colleagues across the business, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help strengthen strategic capabilities across the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has significant experience within a medical communications, healthcare communications, or medical affairs environment.
- Enjoys combining strategic thinking with client partnership and programme leadership.
- Has experience developing and delivering high-quality communications programmes for pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients.
- Is confident building relationships with senior stakeholders and providing trusted strategic counsel.
- Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business growth.
- Has excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
